Alternative Spring Break- www.asb.utah.edu
To maintain a healthy campus community, students are encouraged to participate in campus activities, especially those that provide service to those in need. One of the most popular service activities is Alternative Spring Break.
Co-sponsored by the Bennion Community Sevice Center and the Office of Health Promotion, Alternative Spring Break recruits teams of college students to travel to different locations to engage in community service and experiential learning during spring break. This service provides students with a healthy alternative to traditional spring break activities. Students leave behind the world of books and labs to enter communities grappling with issues such as urban or rural poverty, prejudice, hunger, HIV/AIDs and environmental degradation. The communities benefit from tangible assistance while students gain a new perspective of the world.
